What
is the Loire Nature program ?
Loire Nature is one of the most important LIFE
financial programs. (52 Miilion Francs, 1993-1998, EU: 50%; France:25%; others:
25%)
Espaces naturel de France (
ENF ) and WWF-France have signed an
agreement with the European Union (Commission
of the European Communities) and the French State, stating that ENF is in charge
of the administrative and technical coordination, while WWF-France, as an associate
NGO, is in charge of the program’s global communication. The goal of the Loire
Nature program is to protect fluvial dynamics
and biodiversity on the Loire basin.
Who operates Loire Nature projects on the Loire Riverbasin?
The Loire Nature projects are operated by 7 NGOs, the mission
of which is to protect nature and the environment. They pool their scientific
knowledge and their experience in the field of land management.
